NORTON began directing with a visceral black and white music video about a pair of possessed shoes. It won him awards for best unofficial music video at the 2013 Los Angeles Music Video Festival, and best director at the 2013 Ibiza Music Video Festival, grabbing the attention of L.A. production companies.
With a production company signing in L.A., NORTON decided to leave his job as a commercial video editor in New York and move to Hollywood. He’s since directed commercials for Google, Nike, Nest, Vodafone, Playboy Fragrances, and Danone, among others. Norton has worked with recording artists such as Danny Brown, Panic at the Disco!, St. Lucia, PAPA, Brooke Fraser, and Yung Baby Tate.
NORTON’s talent as a director, editor, and highly experienced Visual Effects artist (He won an Unreal Engine Fellowship) has enabled him to create projects from soup to nuts, with unwavering attention to detail during each aspect of the production.
Featured on MTV, Pitchfork, Promo News, and Noisey, his work also earned him a Vimeo Staff Pick for iconic rapper Danny Brown’s “25 Bucks.”PromoNews named him one of the top new directors of the year. In 2016, his commercial for Nike with Neymar Jr. was featured in the Shoot Online New Directors Showcase, along with a feature on SHOTS magazine and Editor’s Pick at Creativity Online and Little Black Box. SXSW Film Festival recognized NORTON for his work in the Chris Lake music video “I Want You”.
